The Problem
An estimated 8 out of 10 black women have experienced some form of trauma. Our society expects these women to "be strong" and overcome their trauma, but denies them equal pay, opportunities, and safety in the workplace. Black women don't want a handout--just a level playing field. Then they will rise on their merits. |
The Opportunities
Sustain Equity Group provides free, trauma-informed leadership development training, mentoring and networking for Black women and other women in marginalized communities disproportionately impacted by daily violence through its U-TRAIN program. The U-TRAIN curriculum is unique and effective. SEG also promotes equitable philanthropic giving to organizations and companies run by Black women. |
The Strategy
Create a more inclusive, safe, and welcoming workplace for Black women by guiding annual cohorts through the U-TRAIN program. Each cohort of Black women will be responsible for mentoring the one that comes next. Eventually, this powerful network of leaders will spread across the country and change norms in the workplace. |
