Leadership
The leadership at SEG is spearheaded by Kayla Hicks, a black woman with over three decades of experience in the field. Under Kayla's leadership, SEG's projects and initiatives aim to empower and uplift women and girls in disadvantaged communities by addressing the systemic challenges they face in areas such as violence, mental healthcare, education, career development, and wraparound services.
We have in our network the National Black Violence Prevention Advisory Council, a diverse collective of Black scholars, professionals, and practitioners who bolster the work of SEG through mentorship, evidence-based research, and recommendations. Our council members come from a wide range of fields such as public safety, public health, psychology, sociology, criminology, education, economics, law enforcement, legal, and media. They are dedicated to the success of SEG’s primary campaign “100 Black Women & Girls”.
